Charity as the fundamental characteristic of the Christian behaviour. New Testamental perspective
Mlčoch, Jan ; Ryšková, Mireia (advisor) ; Scarano, Angelo (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of "Mercy from the point of view of the New Testament". By the method of analysis of each relevant pericope - from the canonical Gospels and the letters of the Apostles Paul and James - and by pointing out the importance of the theme in the teaching of the last three Popes, the aim of this thesis is to highlight the importance and urgency of mercy in the context of present complex and turbulent times. The thesis tries to demonstrate that mercy among men is asked for by God the Creator himself and by his Son the Redeemer and Saviour. Closely related to mercy are the themes of forgiveness, grace, love and justice. Mercy is a fundamental characteristic of God's action and remains an imperative for action among men here on earth. The future on this earth is strongly dependent on upholding the values that mercy brings with it. Keywords Mercy, God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God, forgiveness, compassion, grace, love, pontificate, encyclical.

Architectural study of the sacral object Brno - Líšeň / second stage
Šebela, Vojtěch ; Hrabec, Josef (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the design of the Roman Catholic Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit in Brno Líšeň. The building will complement the needs of the Salesian community, which has been operating in the nearby Salesko youth house for almost 30 years and focuses on educating young people using methods from Don Bosco. The design of the church also envisages the construction of facilities for parishioners and accommodation for Salesians. It should also serve not only the current community, but also the general public. The design offers a solution how to modernize a building of these dimensions into an urban complex such as a housing estate in modern times. All this with an emphasis on minimizing the negative impacts on existing residents who use the surrounding areas for recreation. The building will consist of two functional units. The first will consist of a church building with a capacity of 300 seated and 100 standing parishioners. The second part will be a parish center with a community hall for 100 people. There will also be apartments for priests, a hobby workshop and parish offices.
The concept of education according to St. Augustine
Pecková, Alžběta ; Rybák, David (advisor) ; Pelcová, Naděžda (referee)
The bachelor's thesis on The Concept of Education according to St. Augustine focuses on the analysis of Augustine's ideas concerning education and upbringing within the methodological framework of the history of philosophy. The thesis examines Augustine's view of what is the meaning of education and education. In this context, Augustine's thought is strongly influenced primarily by Plato's philosophy and, of course, by the philosophical and theological tradition that followed. We will trace this context in which Augustine is situated, and also the way in which he builds on earlier sources, especially Plato's idea of education as a bringing to ideas and the motive of anamnesis. We will use this comparison to characterize Augustine's thinking on education more generally, with key themes being the relationship between education and religion, the role of the teacher in the educational process, and the importance of love and truth, example and the individual approach to education. Augustine's writings On the Teacher, Christian Education, and the Confessions will be the primary textual sources.

Kulasová, Magdalena ; Novotný, David Jan (advisor) ; Lovaš, Karol (referee)
The aim of the practical bachelor's thesis God behind Bars: A Series of Journalistic Interviews with Prison Chaplains is to provide insight into the historical development of spiritual service in the Czech prison system, and in particular to describe its current form and the ways and specifics of its functioning. The series of journalistic interviews documents six personal stories in which male and female chaplains describe the reasons and motivations that led them to the vocation of prison chaplains, and share their personal experiences with this profession that they have gained during their practice. Through the interviews, the respondents characterize the chaplaincy work, the principles of prison spiritual service, and offer various perspectives on the work of spiritual professionals in Czech prisons.
Architectural study of the sacred building and the Salesian community center in Brno - Líšeň
Kręželoková, Tereza ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis is the design of the Church of the Holy Spirit and at the same time a community center for the Salesians in Brno - Líšno. The Salesians are a Christian congregation that is especially dedicated to the education of the youth. Salesians have been active in Líšn since 1995, when the Salesian Youth Center began to be established here. The local community of believers currently does not have a church here that would meet the capacity requirements, the believers celebrate services in the gymnasium of the Salesian Youth Center. The goal of my work is to design a church where believers can celebrate services with dignity, and also a community center where the local community of people can meet and create community. The proposal also includes a rectory with apartments and facilities for priests. The land intended for construction is located in close proximity to the Salesian Youth Center. It lies on an elevated site in a rather sloping terrain. To the north of the property there is a polyclinic building. The surrounding development consists of panel apartment buildings, often with a height of up to eight floors. The shape of the building is based on the urban layout. The external plan shape of the building is rectangular and it is installed parallel to the building of the polyclinic and to the road. An ellipse is cut into the rectangle - the inner atrium. The elliptical floor plan of the church is inscribed in the atrium. The proposed building is divided into individual functional units: the Church of the Holy Spirit, the church grounds, the community center and the rectory. The church has an ellipse in plan and is lit only from above by means of skylights. These skylights symbolize the light of the Holy Spirit, coming from above. The interior of the church is defined by 24 columns. The church's facilities include a sacristy, a conference room, sanitary facilities and operational premises. An internal atrium is proposed between the community center and the church, around which the community center corridor leads. The community center includes a social hall for 120 people, which can be divided into two rooms with the help of a mobile partition, as well as a classroom, clubhouse and facilities. On the 2nd floor there are two priests' apartments and facilities for priests, which include a kitchen, library, offices and a chapel. The dominant element of the design is the tower, which serves as a belfry. A church courtyard will be created in front of the church, where seating, a water feature and also bicycle sheds are planned. At the staircase on the south side of the property, residential stairs will be created. The design also includes the modification of the surrounding green areas.

The relationship of children from catholic families to faith in middle childhood
GRULICHOVÁ, Eliška
The presented bachelor thesis explores the problematics of children's faith. Specifically, it is focused on the relationship of children from catholic families to faith in middle childhood. The theoretical part sums up capabilities which have been achieved in cognitive, moral, emotional and social development by children. The knowledge are extended by a context of children's religious life. Two last chapters focus on the approach to an exploration of the development of religiosity and to socialization of a faith. The empirical part was looking for an answer to the question: how do the children in middle childhood from catholic families perceive the faith of their family. It was achieved through the qualitative design of a research: the multiple case study. The data were collected up by in-depth semi-structured interviews with children in the age rage between nine and eleven years. Thereafter, they were analyzed by an open coding process. The thesis presents these data by the card unloading technique in comparison within each one category (the social influence to the infantile faith, the children's explanation of some religious rituals, the perception of the religious rules, the experience of the religious faith and the perception of devotional entities - the God, Jesus Christ, Virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit). It was found that family is an important part of children's (in the middle childhood) religious life. The children identify themselves as Christians and acknowledge the Christian's rules without conflict. They use the confession and the praying for communication to God and for religious entities and for help against bad feelings and fear too. Children positively perceive religious entities and describe them through anthropomorphic and abstract concepts. It also turned out that children's experience and an explanation of the religion correspond to theories of cognitive, moral and emotional development which are described in the theoretical part.
